Based in Montpelier, Vermont, the National Institute for Community Innovations is devoted to making technological advances that make powerful learning available and accessible to all schools and learners - especially those in less advantaged communities.
The Virtual Library
is one innovation whose time has arrived. For several decades, the Information Age has been storing most of its exploding volume of information and knowledge electronically. The free Web offers only a small, hard-to-search and spottily reliable fraction of what has been available to organizations that can pay substantial costs to professional information-service providers.
Now - for the first time
that much broader, deeper level of access is open to all educational organizations and associations.

With the Virtual Library, NICI has created a single affordable gateway to major electronic information and knowledge providers. All Virtual Library contents are librarian-approved, indexed and cataloged. All offer easy searching and a full time NICI help desk.
